Apple just dropped a bombshell of new products, and you won't believe what's inside! From a surprising iPhone upgrade to powerful new MacBooks and a revamped iPad Air, it's been a whirlwind of announcements. But here's where it gets interesting: are these updates truly revolutionary, or just a clever refresh? Let's dive in!
Apple had promised a "big week" of reveals, and they certainly delivered, kicking things off with a bang even before their official press event. The tech giant has unleashed a wave of new devices, and we're here to break down everything you need to know.
iPhone 17e: More Storage, More Speed, Same Price!
Hold onto your hats! Apple has given its entry-level iPhone a significant boost without touching the $599 price tag. The new iPhone 17e now boasts double the base storage, jumping from 128GB to a generous 256GB. That's fantastic news for anyone who's ever run out of space for photos and videos!
And that's not all – it also comes with MagSafe support and Qi2 wireless charging that can hit speeds of up to 15W, which is twice as fast as its predecessor. For those who love convenience, this is a welcome upgrade.
But here's the part that might make some purists grumble: the design remains largely unchanged. It looks pretty much identical to the iPhone 16e. Apple is also sticking with the 48MP Fusion camera system, so don't expect a radical shift in photography hardware.
However, the 6.1-inch Super Retina display now features Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple claims offers 3x better scratch resistance and reduced glare. Plus, the inclusion of the C1X cellular modem promises speeds up to two times faster than the previous generation. Under the hood, it shares the A19 chip with the iPhone 17, meaning you'll get full access to Apple Intelligence AI tools, and it runs the latest iOS 26.
With an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and the promise of "all-day battery life," the iPhone 17e is built to last. It also expands satellite-powered features, including Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My.
Ready to get your hands on one? Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e begin on March 4, and it will be available in black, white, and soft pink. You can snag yours in over 70 countries and regions starting March 11.
iPad Air M4: Powerhouse Performance for Everyday Use
Apple's mid-range tablet just got a serious upgrade with the inclusion of the M4 chip. This means the iPad Air is now keeping pace with the iPad Pro's performance, even though the M4 chip itself is a couple of years old. For most users who enjoy streaming, browsing, and emailing, the M4 chip will be more than capable. And this is the part most people miss: it's also significantly better equipped to handle demanding tasks like video editing than previous Air models.
RAM has also seen a healthy bump, increasing from 8GB in the last generation to 12GB. Given the recent surge in RAM prices, it's quite surprising that Apple has maintained the same starting prices for the iPad Air. The 11-inch M4 iPad Air kicks off at $599, while the 13-inch version starts at $799, both with 128GB of storage. Students can also rejoice with a $50 educational discount.
Apple claims the M4 chip delivers up to 2.3 times faster performance compared to the M1 iPad Air and an astonishing "over 4x faster 3D pro rendering with ray tracing performance." Naturally, the new iPad Air runs iPadOS 26.
Internally, the iPad Air has also been enhanced with the N1 and C1X connectivity chips, making this the first iPad Air to support Wi-Fi 7. Of course, 5G cellular connectivity is also an option.
However, visually, the M4 iPad Air appears unchanged. It sports the same LCD display as its predecessors, and the rear camera and dual-speaker setup remain the same.
Just like the iPhone 17e, pre-orders for the M4 iPad Air open on March 4. It will be available in 35 countries and regions on March 11, in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray.
M5 MacBook Air: A Pricey Leap in Performance
Just a year after introducing the M4 MacBook Air, Apple is back with a new M5 chip. They've also doubled the base storage from 256GB to 512GB, featuring an SSD that promises "2x faster read/write performance." While the standard RAM remains at 16GB, the memory bandwidth has been upgraded to 153GB/s, a 28 percent improvement over the M4 model.
But here's where it gets controversial: these upgrades come with a price increase. The starting price for the latest MacBook Air has climbed back to $1,099 for the 13-inch model, up from the $999 M4 version. The 15-inch M5 MacBook Air will set you back $1,299.
The new M5 MacBook Air is available for pre-order on March 4 and will hit stores in 33 countries and regions on March 11. You can choose from sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.
